The first time I set foot into a consignment sale, I was stunned.
Yes, I was truly speechless (no, that does not happen very often).
First of all, have you ever seen the sheer volume of baby/children’s clothing at one? Or the incredible amount of toys and baby gear?
All of those bargains were right there in front of me, waiting for me to snag ’em.
Oh, yeah!
So, what is a consignment sale?
Basically, a consignment sale is just like a consignment store… only it lasts between 4 and 7 days, and everything you could possibly want or need for baby/children is under one roof. Unlike a consignment store, it is not “hit-and-miss;” you don’t have to keep checking back to see if what you want is there.
What do they sale at consignment sales?
Um, everything. Really. Maternity clothes in all sizes, baby clothes, children and teens clothing, toys, books, games, cribs, high chairs, strollers, car seats, and the list goes on and on.
What is the quality of the items?
Great! Most sales have strict guidelines that consignors (those who sale their clothing and items) must adhere by. Many sales also have workers “checking in” the items to make sure they follow those strict guidelines.
Are the prices really better than just buying new?
Yes! For the most part, it is better than buying new, unless you are able to shop ALL the clearance sales ALL the time. But, really, you can leave a consignment sale with new, or gently-used clothing for deeply-discounted, clearance-item prices.
What sale do you shop?
