You know the feeling. It’s late (or early). You are laying in bed, tired, but not sleepy. Your mind is swimming with the “to do” list, worries, ideas, etc. Your mind refuses to shut down.
That’s how it was for me last night early this morning. I was finally turning in after a productive evening, and ready to get to sleep. Unfortunately, sleep was miles away, and my brain was working overtime.
I was bombarded with idea after idea. You know, great blog post ideas. #sigh
So, I got on Twitter to voice my sad story.
So, my tweet was right on target. I have tried to write down what is on my mind before bed, but apparently, my brain doesn’t work the same in bed as it does during the day.
What I write down makes NO SENSE in the morning! It is just a jumble of words that once had meaning. They leave me wondering, “What on earth was I thinking last night?”
Frustrating, to say the least.
So frustrating, in fact, that I *almost* got up and got back on my laptop to work. Guess those ideas weren’t good enough to merit getting out of bed, huh?!
And, of course, I do not remember ANY of my great ideas. Ugh!
What do you do when this happens to you? I’m open to any ideas and suggestions! 😀
I have trouble sleeping most nights. I usually only get one or two nights of good sleep in a week – so I am VERY familiar with your situation. I have nothing to offer though – only that my nighttime thoughts are generally useless :). I’m all ears to hear some advice on this one!

I was just thinking of this same thing on my way to pick up my son from school. The main time I get great ideas are when I’m driving down the road, away from my computer, and when I can’t just stop and write it all down. I can practically write a post in my head, but then when I get back to my computer, I’ve lost the gist of what I wanted to say. I have seriously considered getting a little recorder so I can record it all. 🙂

This is SOOOO me! I have started using my cellphone to keep track of all the ideas I get while laying in bed waiting for my brain to shut off so I can sleep… I use the “notes” function and leave myself notes for the morning. 🙂
