The review of the Little Hermie books was written by contributing writer, Amy.

The beloved Hermie, the main character in a wonderful series written by Max Lucado is getting a fresh, new look. This re-launch includes fresh book design, packaging and new DVD pricing on all DVDs from this line. With over 5.5 million brand units sold, the new Little Hermie books open the wonderful world of Hermie & Friends™ to an entirely new audience.

Thank You, God, for Loving Me and Thank You, God, For Blessing Me, are new level 2 reader children board books that introduce the famous character Hermie as a baby named Little Hermie.

I was sent these books to read and review with my girls. All three girls enjoyed reading and listening to the new Hermie stories. The books are beautifully illustrated in soft lines and colors. They are written in a simple rhyming style that makes it easy for young children to understand and remember.

My favorite part comes from, Thank You, God, for Loving Me:

You’re with me when I am afraid
And when it’s dark at night.
Just knowing You are by my side
Makes everything all right.

We love Hermie, because of God’s Word being used. I even purchased a Sunday school curriculum that used Hermie.(the kids loved it too)

I love that Hermie teaches our children how God loves them. The books show how we are all special in our own way, and that God makes no mistakes. I think the Hermie books are awesome, and I look forward to reading all about little (baby) Hermie.

I am new to Hermie. All my children are grown, but I now have a grandbaby. So I would love to have books that introduce my grandchild to Jesus through reading her own books. They look like a great teaching series. Thank you.

Hermie is a fun way to introduce children to scripture. I would love to read Hermie to my new grandbaby.

  9. Lacey C. says

I love how the Hermie videos do not dumb down deep theological truths, but only simplify the truths into words children can understand and apply.

My 3 year old says her favorite part of Hermie and Wormie is that they tell God they would like to be different, but God tells them He isn’t finished with them yet.

My two year old adores Hermie! We found them at our public library and watch them over and over….Corrie Lynn calls him the “Jesus Worm!” lol She has a windup inchworm that is green and she makes block houses for her “Hermie” even. 🙂 We aren’t comfortable with much tv so depend on Christian videos and Max Lucado’s Biblical messages for kids are great…both toddlers and even kids who are older. I enjoy the messages and am encouraged and uplifted by them as I go about my housework and cooking dinner and my girls (2 and 1) stand at the tv in rapt attention. 🙂 Unfortunately we do not own any (only second hand veggie tales) as I have never found any used or at thrift shops so to win would be an amazing blessing….and a Christmas gift for our girls!

P.S. Have liked Tommy Nelson and am already a fan of your facebook page already! Thanks for doing this!!!!
