Well, I hit CVS last night one last time with the now infamous $5/15 coupon. I really think I am getting the hang of this CVS thing! I avoided it for so long because it seemed like such a headache, but I am now a complete convert.
This was not a huge purchase, but I did manage to pay 49 cents OOP for $23.44 worth of stuff!
Plus, I earned another $16 in ECBs.
The March deals are now gone, but you can still get the Softsoap FREE ($4.99 value) and the deodorant FREE after ECBs and coupons.
Not sure how? Check out The “Cent”sible Sawyer for great CVS tips and deal scenarios every Sunday night. She explains everything in a very user friendly format.
Switching gears here, after CVS, I swung by WalMart to pick up a few more things I needed. I must say, the contrast between the 2 stores is startling when shopping back to back. I am amazed at how my perception of WalMart has completely changed since I started getting serious about couponing.
Walking past the crowded aisles (yes-10pm, still crowded), their prices practically scream at you. “Rollback!”, “Save money, live better.” What a fallacy! I stifled a laugh when I saw the price on body wash and toothpaste that I just got for free.
Thankfully, I don’t have to go to WalMart very often at all now that I stockpile. I did manage to find some much-needed socks and underwear on clearance, plus a few other essentials that I don’t often have coupons for. But everything else my family needs I can buy elsewhere usually for much less. What a blessing! WalMart can be downright depressing, so the less time I spend there, the happier I stay.

Thanks for commenting at The New Frugal Mom!
It will be interesting to see how the 10 Item Mega Sale plays out across different regions; as I’m in Cincy – home of Kroger and P&G – I know we luck out on getting incredible deals.
Glad to see you’re mastering CVS; some weeks (even months) are better deals than others. The key is to stick with it and build that stockpile! Then the leaner deal weeks won’t really affect you.
Smiles!
