Cleaning the endless baseboards in my home is not my favorite chore. But there is something about clean, white baseboards that just make a room feel… fresh!
Not long ago, I was clipping coupons with my neighbor and mentioned how much I liked to use Mr. Clean Power Multi-Surfaces Wipes to scrub the baseboards. They are a great product for tough jobs! But… they are not at all frugal. Even with a coupon, they still average $1.50 for 35 wipes.
My neighbor kinda looked at me funny and said, “Oh, I always just use Huggies baby wipes for that job. They have ridges too, so they are great for scrubbing.”
Well, duh! I always have baby wipes lying around, and many wipes are textured, just like Huggies. Why did I not think of this before? Baby wipes are certainly cheaper than specialized cleaning wipes. What a great tip!
On another note, this is a fabulous chore for kids. My daughter, by the age of 6, could actually get those baseboards pretty clean. In the future, I’ll hand her a baby wipe and watch her go!

That is a good one – I never thought of wipes on baseboards either. Speaking of wipes, a dad once told me that he used to use wipes to clean up carpet stains (right when they were first soiled). He said it worked better than carpet cleaners. I’ve tried it on basic spills and stuff and it works great. But, for those gross nasty stains, I still need my Oxy Deep 2X!

Hey Alyssa, I know this is an old post but I was browsing and just had to comment 🙂 I LOVE baby wipes.. I use them for everything! When my daughter was first learning to use a sippy cup she would shake it and get her milk everywhere in the car. I bought expensive auto wipes and it didn’t do a thing. I used baby wipes and it come right off the leather! I figure, if they are safe enough for my baby’s hiney I can use ’em on the leather! lol
