Dear Wal-Mart…

Last night I paid you a little visit once again. As usual, you were quite crowded, even at 9pm.

I think I have figured something out about you, Wal-Mart. Now, you don’t see nearly as much of me as you used to, but every couple of weeks, I stop in for a few essentials.

Each time I visit, you have shifted around the aisles and the groceries mysteriously have changed locations on the shelves. Tell me, Wal-Mart, is this just to confuse me, and to prolong my already frustrating shopping trip?

What could have taken me 15 minutes took nearly an hour since I had to search for the items on my list. Could it be that you want your shoppers to spend extra time in the store looking for things, and perhaps stumbling upon something else to buy in the process? Hmmm…

I doubt I will ever really know the truth. One thing I do know, Wal-Mart, is that you temporarily inflate prices just to call it a “Roll-Back” next week. Now, I am not an employee, nor do I personally know any of your employess, but I pay attention to prices like a hawk. This week, you raised the price on my favorite cheese from $2.77 to $2.96! You hope us shoppers won’t notice this little trick, but I do. Perhaps it is an upcoming Roll-Back?

Well, Wal-Mart, thanks for letting me vent. I have decided to forgive you for your sneaky ways. Here is why: last night you let me take all this home for only $2.11!!

It certainly was a pleasure doing business with you, even though your lines were long. Thanks so much, Wal-Mart. I’ll be back, but know that I am watching you.

Very Truly Yours,

Alyssa

I agree! Fortunately for Wal-mart, most of their customers don’t pay attention like you do.

Great savings! You did awesome! 🙂

I actually had a friend who worked in retail, and apparently there is some law that before a retailer can price something on sale it has to be at a certain % above that price for a time period..am I making sense? So is a sale ever really a sale?? Who knows, but we can still get some great deals!! Oh and my Walmart…they have been out of the Scotch Brite for weeks..will I ever get to use my free q’s?

Great Job! My Walmart won’t let me use the HBO coupon because it is for more than the cereal is…..I don’t get it but they said they couldn’t take it! So the last time I was in there, I looked for the Scrubbing Bubbles, not a one in sight, then after I checked out and got to the car and started reviewing my receipt, the cashier didn’t scan almost 5.00 of my coupons, all the internet printable I had, she just didn’t bother to tell me, oh we can’t take these or anything, just didn’t scan them and blew me off. I was busy with something else and not paying attention. I was so mad I told hubby it may be a long time before I go back there! I’m going to be real nice when I go back and hand them ONE coupon at a time and watch them scan every one! This was the third time in less than two weeks they had given me trouble about ips! Great job on your trip!!!!!!

LOL! I love how you wrote your post! Very creative! =) I’ve been telling my husband the same thing about the price “rollback” for months now. Since he drinks a lot of Diet Coke, I notice the price inflation on the 2 liters a lot. One day we can go in and a 2 liter will be $1.18, then $1.38. Then they “rollback” to $1.25. Then back to $1.38. Then $1.08. No rhyme or reason to the price especially compared to other stores. Typically we price match to $1 / 2 liter if it is on sale somewhere else. I wouldn’t be able to budget accurately if I had to rely on Wal-Mart prices!

Aww, the mysteries of Wal-Mart. Glad I am not the only one with frustrations!

Tip: use self-checkout when you have lots of coupons. It may take longer, but you get to personally scan each and every coupon.

Sometimes an employee has to stop by and override a coupon, but I have never had one rejected! Guess I am lucky! I wish Wal-Mart’s coupon policy was the same across the board.

I agree 100% about Wal-Mart temporarily rolling back prices, just to raise them higher than they were in the beginning. The LiveActive cheese here in northern Michigan is $3.17 at Wal-Mart, jumping from their “rollback price” of $2.98. Good job on your shopping.

    Awesome Savings!!
I too have the exact same problems at Walmart but like you I also return again and again…..

Hello Guys! I work as a cashier at walmart. If a internet coupon won’t scan, then we can’t take them, or if it has been copied. If you have problem with the cashier, skip past the CSM (customer service manager )and ask for a assitant mgr, or a co-mgr.If you need to complain call/write 1-800-walmart/write to Bentonvile arkansas. It never does any good to complain at the store level. The problems are because all cashiers and mangement are not on the same page on polices and procedures. Every store does things differently, no consistancy in the whole system. It makes me mad and I work there. We are suppose to match all and any kind of stores ads. (except %’s off) Even BOGO is suppose to be price over rided to half price on each item. I save alot of money matching ads and using coupons. If I can save more money at other stores , then I do that to. (after all they DBL & triple some coupons..) but lets face it we get more lower everyday prices at Walmart!! I need to save in all ways! I’ll be glad to share information about Walmart, write me at Boosweet36@aol.com
