I was just chatting with a fellow blogger the other day about the subject of comments in the blogosphere. Then today, I came across this excellent post just begging to be shared.
As much as I love saving time, using Google Reader to speed through blog posts can lead to a lack of commenting. If you are a fellow blogger, or just enjoy reading blogs, I hope you will read this encouraging article. Comments really do make a blogger’s day… just ask one!
I just found your blog thru “The Mom Blogs” and haven’t gotten a chance to read it yet but I subscribed so I can see what it’s all about.
I use Google Reader also and actually use their widget on my site to share my favorite SBOB (Stuff by other bloggers) with my readers. I make a point to comment on my favorites, also!
Thanks for visiting, Nicole. Your comment is a breath of fresh air!
Thanks for stopping by at my place, Alyssa.
I’m glad that you found something(s) useful – the DoFollow thing and how to post your comments using the Name/URL option instead of the Google login! I always say that if my blog helps even one person, then it was all worth it. 🙂
Hope to see you back!
Alyssa,
I am in MOPS with you. I wondered do you get paid for the advertising on your blog? Have you heard of Payperpost and if so what do you think?
Stephanie
Hi Steph!
Thanks for your question. The ads on my blog are fairly new, but yes, they do have the potential to generate a small amount of ad revenue.
I am pretty picky about what I put here, since I blog about being a good steward. The ads are ONLY for things that I have used or would use myself. Any extra money that I earn is a bonus, and will be applied to our debt.
I have heard of Pay Per Post, but have not tried it myself. Since my desire is to be transparent for my readers, I don’t feel comfortable posting about something that only benefits me. If it is something that I truly feel would benefit my readers (like Revolution Money Exchange), and that fits my blog, I might consider it.
I am still learning more everyday about the blogosphere, but one thing I have learned very quickly is who is blogging for the money, and who is blogging for the sake of sharing.
