CVS $5 Challenge

Let’s just say… that you stumbled across this blog, and you have never shopped at CVS before. You see this and this, and wonder… how do I possibly begin?

You MUST have a CVS Extra Card to participate.

Marianne, aka The New Frugal Mom, has a great solution for CVS newbies. It is the weekly CVS $5 challenge, and I am participating for the first time!

The challenge:

Seasoned CVSers: share your best scenario(s) for the upcoming week at CVS.
Your budget:
$5.00 out-of-pocket cash.
Your mission:
to grow that
$5.00 into even more ECBs to use in upcoming weeks.

I love this idea! Helping others discover CVS is a passion of mine!

I have a stack of 11 manufacturer coupons for $3 off a specified conditioner. The store sale was buy 2 for $6.49. Well I didn’t save and the coupons at the end didn’t help much due to my own mistakes . What I should have done was use 10 coupons for 10 of these conditioners paying only .49cents a piece. I would have walked away with 10 conditioners for $2.45 total. Right? In my account my current summer spending is $48 with 3 EB totaling $5. Does this mean that I can walk in the store and pick up $48 worth of stuff and scan the card at the register without paying a dime?
