Meet My New Best Friend…

I am a gadget nerd. Love ’em, gotta have ’em! Too bad I am soooo frugal, this actually does not belong to me. Allow me to introduce you to Roomba.

She (well, I think it is a she because it is so darn smart) belongs to my super cool neighbors who so graciously let her come stay with us for a while.

I have always wanted to try one of these. Just to see if they live up to all the hype. Well, I gotta tell ya’… 1000% YES! With 4 pets in our home, all indoor, our floors are a hopelessly endless chore. Roomba roams around and sucks up who-knows-what without ever complaining. The best part is, I don’t have to lift a finger.

My kids and pets are thoroughly entertained just by watching Roomba zip across the floor, bump into something and spin around. She even makes cute little noises!

Now if she were mine, I would give her a really smart name. My GPS is affectionately called Betty. Roomba would be christened…. perhaps Oprah? no, Hillary? no, maybe Martha?

Anyway, she will go back home in a few days. In the meantime, my floor has never looked better! Maybe some bigwig PR rep over at iRobot will read my glowing review and decide to send me this.

Or, I maybe will scour Ebay for a really awesome deal and pay CASH for my very own. Ahhh… someday! A girl can dream!

That is soo great! Does it pick up stuff you don’t want it to though? Like if there is a random hair tie on the floor or something? I would be so nervous about that! LOL

I really want one of these. I had some “fun” money and it was a toss up between this and new pots. Alas, my pots were leeching stuff in our food so I went with the less fun option 🙂 I want to try that and the hardwood floor Roomba. My floors get so dirty especially in the summertime.

Katy- yes, that is one drawback, it picks up EVERYTHING. But, it is easy to retrieve, which is great! No yucky bags to explore.

I am putting this on my B-Day wish list. The BIG 3-0 this Thanksgiving!

Thanks for testing it – didn’t know if they worked great. Would love one just to keep dog hair and crumbs picked up off hardwood floors. Not sure what the dog would think though.

DH picked one up for me on Woot recently. I was so excited! I have to say, it’s the quickest way to get the kids to pick up all their toys. “Hey girls, I’m running the robot, he’s going to eat anything on the floor!” Zoom. All cleaned up. My next wish list item is the Scooba one that mops the floors!

And we decided to name him “Spot” – although “Bop” was a close second since he bops into everything while learning the room.

I always thought those things didn’t work. At least I just assumed they didn’t. What do I know?

Ha – what a clever and fun review!

I have always wondered if those things really work. Now I know!
