“Hey, I signed up for Upromise! Really cool, thank you so much for the info from your blog!
Anyway, I am signing up the grocery stores and Albertsons doesn’t use their Preferred card anymore. How do we get the savings at Alberston’s?”
Great question, and one that I should have addressed. In some regions, Albertson’s discontinued the use of their store loyalty discount cards.
You CAN still see Upromise savings at Alberston’s, even without a Preferred card!
Here’s how:
1. Pick up your Albertsons Upromise key tag at your local Albertsons store from any cashier. Albertsons Upromise key tags are valid at all Albertsons stores located in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota and Texas and Wyoming.
2. If you are not already a Upromise member, join — it’s FREE!
3. Register your Upromise key tag at the Upromise website.
4. Visit your local Albertsons store and purchase eligible Upromise products. You will know which products are eligible by the Upromise tags and store signage. A complete list of all eligible grocery products and their percentage contribution is available at www.upromise.com.
5. When you present your registered Albertsons Upromise key tag to the cashier during checkout, your eligible purchases will be totaled, and the savings automatically be added to your Upromise account.
Remember, you can register your CVS card with Upromise as well! Another great reason to become a CVSer!
Happy Savings!

For your readers in the Midwest… HyVee has a special Upromise card also.

As of yesterday (8/5/08) I was still using my preferred card… It may not be a corporate wide thing…

I went to a Albertson’s in Texas and was told they do not have upromise cards. I was directed to the site (upromise) and told to request one through upromise, however, there are no options on this. I have sent an email to Upromise and Albertson’s but have not received a reply. Thanks

Hi Anonymous!
That is very odd. Unless they have changed things completely, Albertson’s still accepts the Upromise partners card. I believe you were misinformed. I hope you get a response from someone!
