Although I am spending less than ever before on monthly household items (yes, really!), I am actually able to give more than ever before.
By taking simple steps to build a healthy stockpile, one can very quickly acquire an excess of STUFF. Thankfully, there are always opportunities to bless others with your stockpile, if you know where to look.
For example, our church supports Union Gospel Mission in Fort Worth. Each month, they request specific donations of personal items.
Of course, a cash donation would always be welcome. But actually, it is much more feasible to simply reach into my stockpile than my wallet. Why? Well, because I pay pennies on the dollar for many of our necessities which I can then share with others.
During the month of July, Union Gospel has requested deodorant, razors, and shaving cream. No problem! CVS to the rescue.
Don’t have a CVS nearby? I also receive many freebies in the mail, including the items above. It takes just seconds to request them online, and I am happy to pass them on to those in need.
Being “thrifty” is simply smart, so why not use those skills to bless others?
There are so many organizations in need of donations. I encourage you to find ways to share your stockpile!
You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

I know all about being frugal. I scrounged around the house today looking for change to put gas in my Vespa. My wife said “Just take your truck to work”. I found $4 in change around the house and it topped off my tank. I can ride to work and back a whole week on a tank of gas which costs $6 to fill up from empty. Between my Vespa and telecommuting I spend about $2 a week on commuting to work.

Yep! Don’t you just love being able to give and share with others from your stockpile? I’m using my stockpile to bless to of my friends that are very strapped for money so I help them with toiletries so they can use money that would’ve been spent on that to help their family in other areas. I’ve told them about CVSing but they just don’t have the time. I do, so I give them my surplus. It’s so nice being able to do SOMETHING even if I can’t help with actual cash.

Tithing and giving back to organizations are wonderful ways to bless others and stay faithful. Also, you get a tax advantage for donations of goods and cash. Remember to keep your receipts and the value for each item.

Danny, that is amazing. Maybe I need to invest in a Vespa.
Saph, I love how you bless your friends in need! You actually get to see their reactions!
Scott, that is a great point that I neglected to mention. Tax advantages are another plus!

I love to share my stockpile with others, be it family or those in need. (Sometimes it is family members in need). But it is a blessing to be able to help!

I am really enjoying shopping and saving at CVS. Learning the tricks to the ECB is very rewarding.
