My kidlets adore yogurt. It is a staple in our home.
Yesterday afternoon, Leah demanded politely requested some “lo-gurt“.
I typically have Yo-Baby or kids low-sugar Yoplait on hand, but the fridge was rather empty. All I had to offer was this:
Too late, she saw it. To avoid a complete mid-afternoon toddler meltdown, I caved. She ate the whole thing, and there was peace.
I thought nothing of it… until this morning.
Leah slept in late, as usual. She fussed a few times to let me know when she was up. When I opened the door to her room, I immediately smelled the damage I had done.
You are so lucky my camera is broken. It was everywhere. All over the sheet, her blankie, her teddy bear, up her back, and somehow on several bars of the crib.
Not only that, it was dry. I literally had to scrub down her back in the bathtub. Poor thing now has a rash all over her behind.
Doing extra laundry all day is most definitely NOT frugal.
Please learn from my mistake! Fiber-One is fantastic, for adults. Just don’t feed it to your toddler. That works for me!
OH NO! I’m so sorry!! I am here groaning with/ for you. I can only imagine… YIKES!
Oh, yucky!! I am sorry that you had to go through that. Certainly a good lesson to learn (and pass along)! 🙂
I left out so many of the gory details, too! LOL
It was NOT a fun way to start my day. Lesson learned.
Poor little Leah!
There should be a warning sign on that stuff!
wow! i learned that the hard way too, it wasn’t as bad as Leah but my daugher gets the runs like that with half a cup of the Dora yogurt poor toddlers, what are their mommies thinking (just kidding) thanks for sharing though! i hope tomorrow is better…
I am so sorry! Poor baby and poor mommy for having to clean all that up!
oh no oh no oh no!
How horrible!! Just when you thought she had outgrown explode-a-poops…I will definitely be heeding this advice for my 16-mo-old girl. And passing it on to my playgroup buddies!
Oh no! I told my older 2 never give the baby(18 months) that stuff. They can handle it just fine(11 and 9). At least you know you can always use it in a case of constipation 🙂
Oh that is terrible for you and your little one. I guess that tell me that the yogurt would work for the reason I would need it :).
Oh no! I have been there!
April makes an excellent point! Feed this to your toddler when they are constipated. I never thought of that! LOL
Horrible! But funny, in a glad-it-didn’t-happen-to-me kinda way : )
yuck, you poor thing (and your baby!)
On a better note- I got 6 of these for free today with a $1 sale at Alberton’s mixed with 6 $1 off coupons- good for me that I don’t have toddlers!!!
And thanks for stopping over at my blog
Oh my gosh you poor thing! Good luck with all the washing!
Eww for her.
Eww for you.
Eww for all the extra laundry!
I believe you when you say that it was NOT the best way to start your day!
Oh, that has SO happened here. More times than I care to remember. I am sure you took sterilizing and washing laundry to whole new levels. BLECH!
Oh Wow! I JUST bought some of that exact yogurt at Kroger because it was marked down. I won’t share!!
I only have one word… Ugh!!!
Oh MY!! I feel so bad for you. And I might have done the same – wouldn’t have really thought about it. I’ll pass the info along!
Hope all is clean and fresh now! 🙂
Woke up to the exact same thing this morning with my toddler, but it’s due to a tummy bug. His room is being aired out as we speak. Thanks for the tip- mine loves “go-go-gurt” in any form, and I wouldn’t have thought about this happening!
My two year old loves yogurt to, I will have to keep this is mind! Thanks for the tip.
Oh my goodness! What a mess you must’ve had. I’ll have to remember, no Fiber One products for the little ones. On the other hand, I guess that’s proof that it works. 🙂
