Homeland trip 11/Feb

This was a quick trip thrown in before church. Mittens went with me; having time alone with precious older DD does not happen very often.

And, remember, my goal for the month is to only spend $150 on groceries. We are almost halfway through the month, and I am staying under my goal really well so far.

I had two coupons for $1/2 Frosted Flakes, and wouldn’t ya know it, Homeland had a BOGO sale on all Kellogg’s cereal. I whipped those babies out, and scored a total of $4 off 4 boxes of Frosted Flakes (cause, remember, Homeland DOUBLES coupons. Yeah, baby!). I purchased my items in two transactions to reap the full benefit of the doubly-goodness (cause Homeland only doubles one of the “like” coupons in a transaction).

Transaction 1

BOGO Frosted Flakes
2 @ $2.49 ea = $4.98
$1/2 coupon, doubled = $2.00
final = $2.98, or $1.49 ea

2/$5 Minute Maid Orange Juice
final = $5.00, or $2.50 ea

coupons/savings total = $9.78
Total OOP = $8.74

Final Savings = 55%

Transaction 2

BOGO Frosted Flakes
2 @ $2.49 ea = $4.98
$1/2 coupon, doubled = $2.00
final = $2.98, or $1.49 ea

BOGO Frosted Mini Wheats
2 @ $2.09 ea = $4.19
final = $4.19

1 box Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
regular price = $0.69
sale price = $0.45
final = $0.45

coupons/savings total = $11.44
Total OOP = $8.34
Final Savings = 60%

Total OOP on groceries for the month of February = $46.65
