It’s good to be home…

You know the feeling when you have been away from home for a few days, and you just cannot wait to walk in the door?  Well, I had that feeling about 8 pm this evening (Saturday).  Our family had returned from a vacation to New Braunfels, Texas, and what should have been a 5-hour drive turned into a 9.5 hour excursion.

We left our condo at 10:30 this morning… only to stop at the fabulous outlet mall in San Marcos (10 minutes north of New Braunfels) where I spoiled my kids again bought a few things at the Disney Store and hit a HUGE sale at Banana Republic.  Oh.  My.  Stars.  BR is MY PLACE to shop.  Unfortunately, their prices are not wallet-friendly at all… unless you hit a fully-stocked outlet store also having a 40 percent store-wide sale!!!  Woot!

I got $90 BR jeans for a mere 30 bucks.  Holla!  I got several more items, and I may showcase them later… not to brag, but to show you just how darn excited I am!  Another bonus was that the store had a special section for those of us who require petite clothing.  I had a fabulous morning!

We got back on the road at noon… and proceeded to stop every 15 minutes several times for my bladder-challenged three-year-old.  Yes we made frequent stops, and no most of them were not to a real bathroom.  It is amazing the lengths you will go to just to make a trip shorter; stopping on the side of the road and “assisting” as your child pees for the upteenth time.

The BEST part of the drive home was when we stopped in Ft. Worth to see Alyssa and her family!  It was so nice to just hang out and chat for awhile while our little girls played.  Of course, I got to snuggle with her sweet lil man, too!

And when we finally got home and walked in the door, we took a deep breath and…. GAGGED.

That’s when we remembered the mouse traps Shane set before we left.  One was empty, and one was not.  Let’s just say little mousy had been there since at least Tuesday (we left Monday afternoon).  I’ll leave you to smell, er, picture the rest.

Seriously, I am happy to be home and returning to my normal posting routine… minus the mouse.
