As many of you know, my husband, oldest daughter, and I have spent the week at church camp with our youth students. We got home around noon today (yea!). It was a great week, and we saw God move in so many ways!
We took 112 students (grades 6-12), 12 sponsors/small group leaders, 4 cooks, our 5-year-old daughter, Shane, and myself… for a total of 131 people! That is an amazing number, if you consider that there are around 2000 people living within our city limits. We were blessed in so many ways: a new cabin with a huge kitchen, a massive meeting area, and 2 large sleeping quarters. Even with all of the sleeping space, we still did not have enough room for everyone! We had to move a few mattresses around, and I even had to purchase an air mattress for a student without a bed.
It was an amazing week. We had a wonderful in-cabin band and sponsors; as well as, a great speaker and Tabernacle worship band. 13 students accepted Christ as their Savior, and 15 others re-dedicated their lives. It was fabulous. It was so beautiful watching God move among our students… touching their hearts in ways that no one would have expected.
A few fun facts about Falls Creek:
:: Falls Creek is the largest Youth Camp in the Nation.
:: Falls Creek started in 1917.
:: Falls Creek is only 40 minutes from our town (this is my favorite “fun fact”)!
Our oldest fell in love with Matt Papa, the artist who led worship for our week. She loved his music and his hair. I had him totally sign my backpack 🙂 A also learned more about worship: how we worship, why we worship, and what it means to worship… but more on that later!
After we got home, we played with our younger girls, who did not join us for camp. For supper, I made “Letter Pancakes,” an idea that I got from Mandi @ Doodles’ Place.
The girls loved having the first letter of their name “written” in pancake. M had a momentus occasion. This was her first time to eat pancakes. She loved them, just like her sisters always have!
So far this evening, A has had 1 bath, R has had 2, and M has had 3; , M had a huge blowout (we sure didn’t miss those at camp!), there have been at least 10 meltdowns between the two older girls, and around 6 toy-related squabbles.
Ah, it is nice to have our routine back so quickly…

Haha, I love your youngest’s expression eating her pancakes – that’s pretty much how I feel about them too!
