I walk every year at the relay for life, also I wear pink ribbons on my dress suits at work, and I participate in the Susan G. Kormen walk for the cure. Both my maternal and my paternal grandmothers had breast cancer, and my Great Aunt Passed away from breast cancer when I was a child.

I encourage every woman I know to have a yearly mammogram, and to do self exams. I believe in these to things very strongly. You just don’t mess around with this.

My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer and she is the first in our family to ever have this. She has no history of breast cancer. She has done all her treatments and is doing well but it was an eye opener for alot of us and we have since been more vigilant with self exams and fundraisers and just general awareness that it doesn’t have to be in your family for you to have it.
