UPDATE: THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED

I am pleased to announce our next sponsor is Dayspring.

My favorite site from the Dayspring “family” is Jesus Is The Gift.

Jesus is the Gift is a movement that focuses on and honors Jesus as the ultimate gift.

We encourage Christians to celebrate Him by tying a ribbon around a cross as a visual reminder of His sacrifice.

We also challenge believers to engage in gift giving as a loving act of ministry and reflection of Jesus rather than a chore or obligation.

Our goal is not to discourage the many wonderful aspects of the Christmas season but to redeem giving, decorating, and celebrating in a way that brings “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:14 KJV).

trying to teach my children that the Christmas season is more about the giving than the getting!

  2. Alison says

My children & I will be getting one to two names off of an angel tree at the mall. We will be gifting those in need vs. one another. 🙂

  3. Jennifer Short says

I’m hoping to help with my church’s “Day of Giving” where people can come and “shop” for free.

  4. Lawanna Horton says

I believe giving is on going not just for the Christmas season. I choose to give, I don’t do it for me I do it for Jesus, you don’t know when you are entertaining Angels!

  5. Lindsay says

I have lots of friends and family in need right now, hurting from health problems or hard times. I hope to help and comfort them.

  6. ACMommy says

We’ll focus on giving by keeping Christmas simple and sweet…our children delight in thinking of others and we plan lots of goodies for the people around us.

  7. Rebecca says

I am trying to get a lot done right now (like Christmas cards, etc.) so that we CAN focus on the season. I have that same goal every year and I am so wanting to have a relaxed Christmas!

  8. says

When I became a mother, I found I need to spend a lot more time at home and can’t be as involved in church ministries and outreach as I once was. But with prayer and a little thinking outside the box, the children and I write letters/drawings a few times a week and mail them to seniors and shut-ins and we do baking for neighbors to surprise them. I try to help the littles think of ways to give and bless others as a way for them to see Jesus’ love.
Christmas time is just the time to double our efforts and spread His love!

I’m going to head up a church wide Operation Christmas Child year-long drive…it will be starting soon, so praying that this is God centered, with a focus on those who have less than we do.

  10. says

Great question! I love the red and white colors of this set, by the way..
The kids and I decided last year to set aside one our gifts and give to a ministry instead. Last year we chose Operation Christmas Child, this year I think we may choose Women At Risk. We need to pick soon, though!

  11. Julie says

I’m going to a nursing home in December where I’ll play the piano while the residents sing Christmas carols and hymns. It’s really time well spent to hear and see the sweet seniors singing their hearts out! I’m the one who receives the blessing!

  12. Mindi says

I will focus on giving by having my son donate for his can food drive through his school and also donating for Toys for Tots!

  13. says

Growing up with very little, I have always hated how Christmas seems to be so much more about what we buy than the real meaning of Christmas. I always try to give to others or charity during Christmas. To people who won’t be able to give me a gift in return, because that’s what true giving is, not giving because we’re going to get something from someone.

  14. Chris says

I am looking forward to our monthly evening of cooking at our local soup kitchen and sharing our blessings with those suffering hardship but most of all sharing the hope of Jesus Christ.

my husband is from Guatemala and grew up very poor. Gifts were not exchanged in his family, however he learned that Christmas was a time that was special, to be shared with family and friends. Now there is a lot of commercialism surrounding the holiday, I am trying to teach my daughter that while gifts are wonderful, the true spirit of the holiday is being with those you love and sharing what you have.
