Organic Fruit and Yogurt Smoothie Recipe

As you know, our family is focusing on eating more organic foods. A quick and easy way to incorporate these organic fruits and veggies into our diet is by making a smoothie!

Ingredients

The ingredients for my favorite smoothie:

  • 7-8 frozen Strawberries (these are organic strawberries, bought in their prime, and then washed and flash-frozen for winter use)
  • 1/4+ cup organic Apple Juice (or more depending on how thin/thick you like your smoothie) *I have also used Orange Juice with tasty results.
  • small handful of organic spinach
  • 1/4+/- cup organic “drinkable” Yogurt (more or less, depending on how thick you like it)

My smoothie helper!

Directions:

Blend it all together in your Ninja (or other blender).

After blending thoroughly, remove the lid and stir any spinach pieces that might have strayed to the top.

Add more of anything if you like, and continue blending.

When you have your desired thick-(or thin!)ness, then pour into your favorite glass, add a straw, and enjoy!

Yum

THis is my new favorite place for health info. I’ve been a green smoothie girl for 10 months and loving it. In fact tomorrow I’m teaching a group of people how to do it.

Also, what are your feeling on natural laundry detergents. I haven’t switched yet, but considering it. They are expensive thought!

Ooohhh… I got caught up in that site already! Thanks so much for sharing! 😀

My feelings on natural laundry detergents are that we should use them, I do buy them (on sale, with a coupon), but I also buy the All Free & Clear brand of liquid detergent. They are DEFINITELY expensive (too expensive, imho :D) but it is an area we are working on bettering in our home. I do “conserve” our laundry detergent by not using as much in each load. The amount of soap the bottle says to use is more than what is needed to clean our clothes (again, imho).

As for coupons, Seventh Generation frequently has coupons for their natural soaps and detergents. Target does, too, and will “stack” both your manufacturer coupon with a Target coupon, which makes it nice.

      HTH!

      Thanks for sharing!

Yum! We love smoothies at our house! Although we haven’t been drinking them much lately because it is just too cold outside!

You should really try making homemade yogurt. It’s super easy and so much less expensive than buying store-bought yogurt.
