I am a jar saver.
It totally drives my husband crazy, but I like my jars.
One thing that has kept me from keeping certain jars is the smell.
Like pickle jars. Those smell pickl-y even after washing in the dishwasher a few times, so I normally have to toss those.
Sigh.
The latest pickle jar was the perfect size for a project, and I really wanted to keep it.
After a few washings, it still smelled yucky, so I thought I would give it another try with a mix of water and white vinegar.
I let it set overnight, rinsed it out, washed it with soapy water, and guess what? No more pickle smell.
So next time you have a smelly jar that you want to save, try soaking it in water and vinegar.
Do you save your jars? Here are a few ideas for reusing glass jars. Personally, I like using them as drinking glasses!

I like your idea for glass jars, but what about plastic cups, like my boys sippy cups. I soak them in hot soapy water but can never get the smell quite out. I even rinse them after use, so liquids don’t sit in the cups.

try using bleach/water mix. if that doesnt work try an efferdent tablet and soak overnight.
