I have started and stalled on my Spring Cleaning a dozen times this year. A major roadblock keeps getting in my way: a never-ending battle with my floors. With a toddler, two pets and lots of tile and hardwood throughout our home, my floor is a daily chore that I can never seem to overcome.
I have owned various stick vacs, Swiffers, dust busters and more, but nothing ever seems to be a match for my messes. So when Walmart offered me a chance to try out the new Dyson DC35 Digital Slim Cordless Vacuum, I was intrigued. Frugal by nature, I have never owned a high-end vacuum product. The $299 price tag {gasp} was rather… jaw-dropping? For a stick vac?
But I had to wonder – would such a tool get the job done, last longer, and ultimately be worth the money? I decided to find out, and my floors now have a new nemesis. (One of you may also get a chance to test drive this puppy – stay tuned!)
Check out this video made just for the Walmart Moms all about this amazingly versatile product:
Do you own a Dyson or other high-end cleaning gadget? Do you think they are worth the extra cost?

We have a Dyson! (One of the originals…) We “splurged” one year & purchased it with some of our tax refund.
I love it! It is truly a powerful vac & even though we don’t have much carpet (actually only a coupla rugs…) I purchased the Floor Brush attachment and it works like a dream!
I blogged about getting it way back when… http://bit.ly/lxal2s 😉

I also have one of orignal Dyson. I love it! I was amazed when I did the Dyson test–sweep the floor with current sweeper and them the Dyson—the Dyson was half full when I was done.

A couple years ago we bought the new (mini) ball vacuum and have never looked back. I hated vacuuming before and would put it off. I love how easy it turns, how easy it is to clean out, and the size is perfect for our small family. I have both carpet and laminate, and I use it for both. I like how the handle goes down so I can store it in the closet a little easier. It’s easy to take outside when I vacuum the car too. One of the best (full-price) purchases we’ve made. 🙂

I have a Dyson original. I love mine, too. The only thing I’m not a fan of is carrying it up and down the stairs. I bought mine after my sister-in-law told me that her Dyson sucked up drywall dust about 2 years after it was put in! I saw the new stick version at the store the other day, and I have to say, that may be our next vacuum purchase. Looks awesome and is really light-weight.

I got a Dyson (with the ball) for Christmas. I had tried out my mom’s and my brother’s earlier and saw what a difference it made. It gets up everything that’s deep in your carpet and leaves it looking almost new. I love it and would never use anything else.

Wow! I’ve never purchased high-end for a vacuum, but that stick vac does look fabulous! Looks like it would make vacuuming a much easier chore.

I am a “Kirby” girl have been for about 15 years. I seriously am thinking about giving this one a try. I love my Kirby but it’s a bit heavy and I have to go through a couple steps to get the floor attachments on. My husband purchased two cordless floor vacuums (two years ago) one for upstairs and one for downstairs but the battery starts to go dead in about 5 minutes and that’s even after charging overnight. He spent I believe $80.00 for the two. I also have two other “handheld, floor vacs” that I bought about 6 years ago but again the suction is crappy. Thanks for sharing I am going to look for one 🙂

This post really resonates with me! Keeping floors clean with kids and pets can feel like an endless battle. I’ve tried so many cleaning tools myself, but none seem to do the trick long-term. The Dyson DC35 sounds like a game-changer, especially being cordless. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but from your experience, it sounds like it might be worth the investment for the ease and effectiveness. I can’t wait to hear more about how it performs over time, and I’m definitely staying tuned for that giveaway!
