So I’ve taken a much longer “break” from writing than I intended. We’ve hit a few snags in the last couple of weeks, one of which is that our washing machine broke. For someone who is perpetually behind on laundry anyway, a broken washer is a nightmare. Fortunately, it was an easy fix, but guess who is still behind on laundry {without an excuse!}? Ahem.
I am working a Whole30 back into my routine this week. With Thanksgiving looming, I’m making as many changes as I can to get back into that “groove” but will not be going full-on Whole30 at this time {and let’s face it… we all know I have NO willpower when it comes to pie}.
This last week has been spent cleaning out cabinets {I do this a lot}, going hard-core on spelling, math, and writing in school, uploading pictures to my Flickr account, and decorating for Christmas.
Yes, you read that correctly: Christmas.
I know it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet {and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, so we definitely do not overlook it}, but if we do not get Christmas up BEFORE Thanksgiving {read: our first free Saturday in November}, it does not get done. It is that crazy around here! Plus, we might as well enjoy the tree and decorations as much as we can, right? I actually went “all out” this year and finally took down my beloved Africa mantel to decorate it for Christmas. I’m no interior decorator, but I am pleased with the mantel. It is complete for now, but I may make changes or update with more decorations later.
Cam seems to be going through a growth-spurt, as he seems to never be satisfied, and eats anything and everything I put in front of him. He’s also been sleeping even less than normal. In fact, I can barely sit down without him crawling on my lap, eager to nurse! He’s such a little stinker! Luckily, he’s completely adorable, and has stolen my heart. 😉
The girls are rolling along, and we have completed our first 12 weeks of CC. It’s insane how quickly this semester is going! I have decided to add a grammar curriculum to Reese’s schedule to help her have an easier time when she begins Essentials, and she will start that new curriculum in January. It’s not really a big deal, I just want her to be more familiar with diagramming and the parts of speech, and we won’t spend a ton of time on it because she will get everything she needs when she takes Essentials in a year or two. I will give more specifics on this when I show you how we homeschool Reese in my series… of which I will be picking back up now that we are through the essential oils series.
Speaking of essential oils, guess what? I’ve found a new favorite that I will be sharing with you soon! If you would like to get rid of that brain fog and have clearer thinking, I have just the oil for you. It has transformed my days! Seriously!
If you follow me on Kingdom First Mom, I am having trouble posting from there. Somethings will go through, and others will not. I’m working on getting that taken care of. Also, there will be some big changes coming to both sites soon, and I am seriously excited about them!
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
